I ITEM I DISCUSSION I ACTION I
APPROVAL OF Councilman Mark Wood motioned that the minutes of the No Action
MINUTES FOR February 9, 1993 CIP Meeting be approved. The motion was Required
2/9/93 MEETING seconded by Mayor Brown. Motion carried.
PROPOSED 1993 Staff provided two separate lists to the Committee; a list of Greg Dickens/
STREET SEAL streets that are candidates for chip seal, and a list of streets Jimmy Cates
COA T PROGRAM that are candidates for overlay. Funds available for the
proposed street program are $394,000.
The committee discussed the possibility of putting on hold
the list of streets for overlay, and going forward with the list
of streets for chip seal. It was determined that the proposed
overlay streets could be repaired with routine maintenance,
and some could possibly be overlayed with the Public Works
current operating budget this year.
It was recommended that the proposed overlay streets be
postponed and that staff move forward with the proposed
chip seal streets, with the removal of two street areas;
Harwood Rd. (Grapevine Highway/Hurst city limits) and
Smithfield Road (Turner Dr./Davis Blvd.). Staff is to prepare
for Council approval, a listing of the streets to be chip sealed
and estimated costs. The estimated cost should include the
chip seal and street preparation being done by a contractor
and be brought to Council on May 24, 1993.
Motion was made by Mayor Brown to accept the
recommendation and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Welch.
Motion carried.
