ASSIGNMENT
Greg Dickens stated that he had net with Greg
Craig Olden, a gabion contractor, in regards
to the erosion problems on the canpleted
"Big Fossil Creek Erosion Control Project"
canpleted in 1988. Greg Dickens stated that
it appeared that approximately 300 cubic yards
of gabions would be required to control the erosion
problem at, the upstream slope, downstream
slope and downstream toe. Greg stated
that the construction cost is estimated
to be $44,000 and engineering for this
project would be handled in-house at no
additional cost to the project.
The CIP Camlittee reccmnended staff
request authorization for the project's
budget fran Council at their next
meeting.
Greg Dickens stated that the Public Works Greg
Department has warranted this signal by
conducting traffic counts at this inter-
section. Al though only one out of twelve
warrants is currently exceeded, when the
full width of Watauga Road is opened it
is expected to exceed several rrore
of the warrants. The estimated cost
of this project is $75,00 which includes
engineering and construction.
The CIP Comni ttee recarmended to go to
Council for authorization of this project.
Greg Dickens stated that this intersection Greg
does warrant signalization at this ti1œ.
Greg Dickens stated that staff recarrrends
the signals be installed with wood poles
and cable since this is a temporary location
for these signals due to the propo~ed future
realignment of Lewis/Noreast Drive to
the north adjacent to the TU Electric
right-of-way. The estimated cost
of this project is $35,000 which includes
engineering and construction.
