DISCUSSION
It was reported that a traffic count taken on
Redondo Street on May 29, 1987 was 600 cars
in 24 hours. After disc~ssion, it was decided
by the Committee that a post and cable barrier
be erected along the east property line of the
Recreation Center/Library with an appropriate
size opening at the north end. The barrier
should be very clearly delineated for visibility
at night. Rodger Line will talk to Councilmembers
Ramsey, Garvin, and Spurlock to see if they
concur, or if it should be taken to the City
Council at the July 13th meeting for a vote.
It was reported that traffic counts at this
intersection yielded the following.
24 hours 6-19-87 Trinidad 3,483
6:30-8:30 AM Trinidad left Rufe Snow 89
4:00-6:00 PM" " " "105
6:30-8:30 AM Rufe Snow left Trinidad 182
4:00-6:00 PM " "" " 268
Also mentioned was that 5 non-fatal accidents
occurred at this intersection in the last 12
months. Cost of signalization with connections
to signals at Industrial Park Boulevard and
Rufe Snow was estimated at $50,000. The Committee
members decided after discussion to concentrate
on working towards getting Industrial Park Blvd.
constructed eastward to Holiday Lane as soon as
possible. The Committee members instructed the
staff to pursue this and report back out progress
at future meetings.
The Committee members agreed on doing this at a
future meeting
Richard Davis requestêdthat Plaza Drive be overlaid
this year. Greg Dickens stated that he would
check on this being possible and report back
next eIP meeting.

Dick Fisher requested that a right turn lane
be constructed for Holiday Lane traffic heading
south onto the north access road for Loop 820.
Richard Davis suggested contracting with the
BISD contractor currently reconstructing the
Rich1and High School parking lot. Rodger N.
Line stated concern about proceeding with any
street widening on Holiday Lane without
notifying the homeowners along this section of
Holiday Lane. The concern being based on the
City previously stating to the homeowners that
Holiday Lane would not be widened under the
current CIP bond package. The Committee
agreed that the staff should notify the
homeowners prior to construction of said right
turn lane if it is determined by the Public
Works Department that the installation is
physically possible without moving the existing
light standard or causing any major conflicts
with existing utilities.
