ORD I NANCE NO. 1"Z.
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS ADJACENT
TO AND WITHIN ONE-HALF MILE OF THE PRESENT
CITY LIMITS OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS:
SECTION I
On this 4th day of April, 1955, and at a regular meeting of the
City Council of North Richland Hills, the Honorable Mayor thereof pre-
sented to the City Council the petition theretofore filed with him of
M. F. Campbell and 304 other citizens of the territory in said petition
described to be annexed to and become a part of North Richland Hills,
which said petition also contained the affidavit of three of said
petitioners to said fact, said petition and affidavit, being now on
file with the City Secretary.
SECTION II
It having thus been made to appear to the Council, and the members
thereof, in accordance with the requirements of Article 974 of the
Texas Statutes, that the territory described adjoins the town of North
Richland Hills; that it is not more than one-half (1/2) mile in width
and unincorporated and that the petition is signed by more than a
majority of the inhabitants of such territory seeking annexation who
are qual ified to vote for members of the State Legislature of Texas;
and that said territory is to be used strictly for city purposes, and
is described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of the Intersection of
State Highway No. 121 and Birdvil1e-Wautauga Road, in the
West 1 ine of North Rich1and Hil]s, incorporated, as it now
exists, said point being in--i-he East line of Richland Hills
West Addition;
THENCE Southwesterly and westerly with the North line of
State Highway No. ]21 and the South I ine of Rich1and Hills West
Addn. to. the Southwest corner of said Richland Hills West Addn.;
THENCE North with the West] ine of said addition to the
South Line of the Sloan Lumber Co. 110 acre tract;
THENCE West to the Southwest corner of said ]]0 acre tract;
THENCE North with the West 1 ine of said 110 acre tract,
passing the Northwest corner to the North 1 ine of Pipe Line Road;
THENCE East with said North] ine to the Southwest corner
of the Chester Haltom ]05.9 acre tract;
THENCE North with the West I ine of said Haltom 105.9 acre
tract, and with said 1 ine extended North to the Northwest corner
of the H. L. Smith 8 acre tract;
THENCE East with the North 1 ine of said Smith tract to the
West 1 i ne of Br i dv i J 1 e-Wautauga Road;
THENCE North with said West J ine to a point in said West
1 ine which is formed by extending the E. E. Brown 158.5 acre
tract North 1 ine Westerly;
THENCE East with the North 1 ines of said Brown tract and
the E.E.Buchanan tract to the East 1 ine of the Smithfield Road;
THENCE South with said East 1 ine to the Northwest corner
of the W. A. C01n 47.7 acre tract;
THENCE East with said North 1 ine to the Northeast corner
of said CoIn tract;
THENCE South with the East 1 ine of said Coln tract to the
North J ine of the Speed 40 acre tract;
THENCE East with said North 1 ine to the Northeast corner
of said 40 acre tract;
THENCE South with the East 1 ine of said 40 acre tract and
continuing South with an extension of said East J ine to the
North ine of Bedford Road;
THENCE East with said North 1 ine to a point formed by
extending the East 1 ine of the Anderson 32 acre tract North
across said Bedford Road;
THENCE South with said East 1 ine and extended South to
the most Northerly Southeast corner of the Will is 95.2 acre
tract;
THENCE West with a 1 ine of the Wil1 is tract to are-entrant
corner of said tract;
THENCE South with the East 1 ine of said Will is tract to
the North 1 ine of Pipe Line Road;
THENCE West with the North 1 iRe of said Pipe Line Road
to the Southwest corner of the Booth Calloway tract and the
Southeast corner of North Richland Hills, incorporated, as it
now exists;
THENCE north with the West 1 ine of said Ca110way tract
and the East 1 ine of said North Richland Hills, incorporated,
continuing North to the Northeast corner of North Richland
Hills, incorporated, as it now exists;
THENCE West with the North 1 ine of said North Richland
Hills, incorporated, to the Northwest corner of said North
Richland Hills, incorporated;
THENCE South with the West 1 ine of said North Richland
Hills, incorporated, to the place of beginning.
This description encloses and includes North Richland Hills
Incorporated, as it now exists and specifically does not enclose,
include or overlap any portion of Richland Hills, incorporated,
as it now exists.
Compiled from Records. See plat attached.
The territory as described is hereby received as a part of and
incorporated into said City of North Richland Hills, and the inhabi-
tants thereof shall from and after the passage hereof be entitled to
all the rights and privileges of other citizens, and bound by the acts
and ordinances made in conformity thereto.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 4th day of April, 1955.
