employers including military recruiters were onsite to meet with the public.

North Richland Hills Library submitted a grant application to the International City
Manager's Association but was not selected to receive the funds. The funds were going
to be used to purchase a mobile laptop station for small business training with SCORE

Business Development Center at Tarrant County College, will fund $13,000 towards the
cost of the portable computer lab.
Jack Lynn and Tricia Pieper were hired to fill two vacant page positions at the Library.

books.
Mr. Brown gave a brief presentation of Mango Languages, an online tool for learning
foreign languages. The license allows unlimited use, and there are several languages to
choose from.
SUMMER READING CLUB PREVIEW
The Summer Reading Club will begin June 1St. The theme this year is "Libraries, Deep in
the Heart of Texas." It is an eight-week program for all ages. Area businesses donated
prizes for readers, and several special programs are lined up for participants. Research
shows a positive correlation between summer reading programs and retention in reading
and math skills over summer months.
DISCUSS 2010 LOAN STAR LIBRARY PROGRAM
The Library received just under $20,000 in Loan Star Library grant funds this year, and
the grant is expected to increase next year.
The CD/DVD cleaner and polisher was purchased approximately twelve years ago with
Loan Star Library grant funds. The polisher is worn out and will have to be replaced
since parts for this model are obsolete.
