AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A JUDGE AND ALTERNATE JUDGES OF
THE MUNICIPAL COURT OF RECORD NO 1 OF THE CITY OF NORTH
RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS AND ESTABLISHING A SALARY FOR SUCH
TERM
WHEREAS, Section 30.00006, Texas Government Code, requires that the governing
body of a municipality which has created a municipal court of record appoint
by ordinance the municipal judges and establish a salary which may not be
reduced during such term of office; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS,
TEXAS:
Section 1: THAT Stewart Bass is hereby appointed Judge of the Municipal Court of
Record No. 1 for a term of two (2) years.
Section 2: The Judge of the Municipal Court of Record shall be paid a salary of $67,000
per year which shall not be reduced during his term of office. He shall also
be allowed to participate in the city's employee group health plan in the same
manner as employees, although he shall not be deemed an employee and
shall not have any retirement or health benefits when his term of office has
expired.
Section 3: Glynnis McGinty and Lorraine Irby are appointed to serve as Municipal Judge
when the Judge of the Municipal Court of Record is temporarily absent for
any reason. Such judges shall be compensated by the Judge of the
Municipal Court of Record at the rate previously established by the city for
such service by alternate judges. The City Manager may authorize payment
of up to $2,000 per year for alternate judges when Judge Bass is absent for
professional development purposes or in cases where he is required to
recuse himself.
