ELECTION OF OFFICERS MS. AVIS CRISP MOVED TO ELECT MR. DON TIPPS AS CHAIR OF THE LIBRARY BOARD. MOTION SECONDED BY MRS. KAY SCHMIDT. MOTION TO APPROVE CARRIED 5 -0. MS. MARY SHILCUTT MOVED TO ELECT KAREN ALEXANDER AS VICE -CHAIR OF THE LIBRARY BOARD. MOTION SECONDED BY MRS. KAY SCHMIDT. MOTION TO APPROVE CARRIED 5 -0. LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT Last month there were over 8,000 downloads of TumbleBooks. There were over 100,000 hits on the Library's catalog in the month of October. There were 781 new library cards issued in October totaling 71,204 current library registrations. The number of computer users has slightly declined as the economy and job market continues to improve. The Library's website redesign is underway. The new webpage will be launched in May or June 2012. Library meeting room usage remains steady. The new NRH Centre will provide meeting space for all commercial groups, and the library will continue to provide meeting rooms for non - profit organizations. The NRH Centre construction is on schedule to open Spring 2012. Michael Spagnuolo was promoted to fill the vacant, full -time library clerk position. One part -time page position is now vacant. PLAN OF SERVICE DISCUSSION Steve Brown reviewed the Public Library Association's planning process, Planning for Results with the Board. A brainstorming discussion over current and future library services followed.
