Meeting Minutes
1. Call to order
Vice Chairperson Dianne Spradling called to order the meeting of the Keep NRH Beautiful
Commission at 5:50 p.m. April 16, 2013 in the N. Richland Hills Library Board Room.
Roll Call
The following persons were present:

2. Approval of minutes from last meeting:
Dianne Spradling moved to approve the minutes of the February 19, 2013 meeting. Minutes
approved as written.
3. Plan Adopt -A- Highway Cleanups:
Debbie York advised that the Commission had received a letter of recognition for participating
in this program for 10 years. She advised that 4 clean -ups per year are required. There was a
spring clean -up in April. Justin Welborn volunteered to help with the summer clean -up to be
held in June or July. The Trash Bash, scheduled for September will count for the fall event
and the winter event will be held during Christmas school break.
4. Governor's Community Award:
Debbie York reported that the Commission had received 2 nd place in this year's annual
competition. The actual scores won't be released until April 26, 2013 and she will email those
to the members. She also advised that Joe Pack, Parks Department, has been in continuing
contact with TXDot trying to get the Boulevard 26 Landscape project started.
5. Keep Texas Beautiful Conference Delegates:
Debbie advised that the annual Keep Texas Beautiful Conference will be held in San Antonio this
year from 6/17/13 thru 6/20/13. Delegates must register in May. Funding is available for 2
members to attend she asked if anyone is interested in going. They will check their calendars and
get back with Debbie soon.
6. Staff Report: "I Dig My Garden" Photo Contest & Earth Day Rally April 22, 2013.
Information on Photo Contest has been posted and distributed. The contest will run from May 1,
2013 thru July 31, 2013. Judging will be done at the August meeting. Debbie York explained the
Earth Day Rally event and several members will be attending to help man the table to be set up by
the Commission.
