MINUTES OF THE NORTH RICHLAND HILLS CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT BOARD MEETING HELD IN THE CITY HALL, 7301 NORTHEAST LOOP 820 —AUGUST 25, 2014 — 6:30 P.M. A.1 CALL TO ORDER On the 25th day of August, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. the North Richland Hills Crime Control and Prevention District Board of Directors convened in the City Council Chambers at the North Richland Hills City Hall, 7301 Northeast Loop 820, North Richland Hills, Texas with the following members present: Oscar Trevino President Tito Rodriguez Board Member/Vice President Tom Lombard Board Member Tim Barth Board Member David Whitson Board Member Scott Turnage Board Member Timothy J. MOTION TO APPROVE CARRIED 6-0. A.3 PUBLIC HEARING ON CRIME CONTROL & PREVENTION DISTRICT PROPOSED 2014-2015 BUDGET AND AUTHORIZE ADOPTION APPROVED President Trevino opened the public hearing. Mr. Mills, Director of Budget, presented the proposed 2014-2015 Crime Control & Prevention District Budget. Notice of the public hearing was published in the Star Telegram in accordance with State law. The Crime Control Board and the City Council reviewed the budget on August 8 at the City's annual budget work session. The proposed budget for 2014-2015 is $4,867,167 and the revised budget for 2013-2014 is $4,589,380. There were no questions from the Board. President Trevino called for public comments on the budget. There being no one wishing to speak, President Trevino closed the public hearing. BOARD MEMBER LOMBARD MOVED, SECONDED BY BOARD MEMBER TURNAGE, TO APPROVE THE PROPOSED 2014-2015 BUDGET AND AUTHORIZE ADOPTION. MOTION TO APPROVE CARRIED 6-0. B.0 ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, President Trevino adjourned the meeting of the Crime Control and Prevention District at 6:35 p.m. APPROVED: By: Oscar Trevino, President ATTEST: Alicia Richardson, Secretary NRH CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMORANDUM From The Office of the City Manager Date: 8-24-2015 Subject: Agenda Item No. 3 Public Hearing on Crime Control and Prevention District proposed 2015/2016 budget and authorize adoption Presenter: Jimmy Perdue, Public Safety Director Summary: This item requests the Crime Control and Prevention District Board to conduct a public hearing to receive public comments and to make a recommendation to the City Council on the adoption of the Proposed 2015/2016 Budget. General Description: State law regarding the Crime Control and Prevention District requires the District's Board to hold a public hearing prior to the adoption of the budget. The notice of this public hearing was published in the Star Telegram newspaper in accordance with State law. The public hearing for the 2015/2016 Crime Control and Prevention District budget was advertised for 6:30 p.m., August 24, 2015. The proposed 2015/2016 Crime Control and Prevention District annual budget was reviewed by the Crime Control Board and the City Council on August 7, 2015 at the City's annual budget work session. The proposed budget for 2015/2016 is $5,020,512 and the revised budget for 2014/2015 is $4,887,881. A summary report is attached for your review. In order to obtain the maximum input from citizens on the proposed budget, it is recommended that a public hearing be opened and public comment permitted. Recommendation: To open a public hearing, receive comments on the proposed 2015-2016 Crime Control and Prevention District budget, close the public hearing and recommend adoption by the City Council.
