Meeting Minutes
1. Call to order
Chairperson Kathy Luppy called to order the meeting of the Keep NRH Beautiful Commission
at 6:00 p.m. on March 18, 2014 in the North Richland Hills Library Community Room.
Roll Call

2. Approval of minutes from last meeting
Kathy Luppy moved to approve the minutes of the January 21, 2014 meeting. Minutes
approved as written.
3. Discuss frequency of meetings
There was a discussion of the need for monthly meetings. After the review of the program needs, a set
schedule will be determined at the April meeting. This meeting will be moved to Tuesday, April 22"d
4. Waste In Place Art Contest
Debbie York presented the contest rules and information. This was e-mailed to the schools on March 10
and all entries will be due on April Kathy Luppy suggested that the contest be sent out to the schools
earlier next year to avoid conflict with preparation for testing. This year's entries will be judged at the April
meeting.
5. Review of Green Campus Applications
Green Campus awards were given to Academy at Carrie Francis Thomas, Birdville High School,
Holiday Heights Elementary, North Ridge Elementary, North Richland Middle School, Smithfield
Elementary, Smithfield Middle School, and Snow Heights Elementary. Each school will receive a
check for$150 and a sign with the 2013/2014 school year to attach to their Green Campus sign.
6. Staff Report: Governor's Community Achievement Award IGCAAI
Debbie York reported that Keep NRH Beautiful was awarded second place for the 2014 GCAA
application in population category 7. The award will be presented at the Keep Texas Beautiful
Conference in June, 2014 in Austin.
The meeting was adjourned,by Kathy Luppy at 7:30 p.m.
