REGULAR COMMITTEE MEETING
1. CALL TO ORDER
Pam Burney called the meeting to order October 27, 2015 at 1:36 p.m.

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE APRIL 20, 2015, ANIMAL CONTROL
SHELTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
COUNCIL MEMBER RODRIGUEZ MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE APRIL 20, 2015
ANIMAL CONTROL SHELTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING. DR. GARRETSON SECONDED
THE MOTION.
MOTION TO APPROVE CARRIED 4 -0.
3. NEW ANIMAL ADOPTION AND RESCUE CENTER UPDATE
Chun Mezger, Animal Services Supervisor updated the board on operations since grand
opening. Adoption numbers have increased since moving into the new facility.
4. ANIMAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR'S REPORT ON LISTED ITEMS
Empty the Shelter Day Event was on August 15, 2015. There were 46 pets adopted out
with only two pets returned.

The Doggie Beach Bash was on September 26, 2015 at NRH2O. There were 800
human attendees, 400 canine attendees and over $8,000 were raised for the animals.
Some of the upcoming events include offsite adoption events at Unleashed by PetCo in
North Richland Hills every first and third Saturday. Volunteers take adoptable dogs and
cats out to the store for adoption.
There is a Low Cost Vaccination Clinic scheduled for October 31, 2015 at the Adoption
Center from 10 am to noon with the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection providing the
veterinary services.
Run Run Rudolph and Night of Holiday Magic events will be on December 5, 2015.
The staff and volunteers will have a booth with pet supplies and gifts for pets and pet
owners for a donation. A portion of the proceeds from the Run Run Rudolph event and
all the money collected from the booth merchandise go to benefit the animals.
5. Continued Fundraising
Ms. Mezger informed the board that there are still fundraising opportunities available
such as pavers, room sponsorships and pet portraits. All the items are still listed on the
city web page. The city is also exploring the possibility of a monthly donor program.
6. ADJOURNMENT
MS. HARTMAN MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AND DR. GARRETSON SECONDED THE
MOTION.
