The Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas met on the 22nd day of
August, 2017 at 5:45 p.m. in the Neighborhood Services conference room.
A. CALL TO ORDER
Kathy Luppy called the meeting to order at 5:50 p.m.

B. CITIZENS PRESENTATION - None
C. ACTION ITEMS
C.1 Approval of minutes of the June 20, 2017 Keep NRH Beautiful Commission meeting.
Motion to approve carried 7-0.
C.2 Election of Chair and Vice-Chair
Kathy Luppy was sole nomination for President and Sandra Totty was sole nomination for Vice-Chair.
Both were elected to the positions by unanimous vote.
C.3 Judging of"I Dig My Garden" Photo Contest entries.
Members voted on entries,with below results:

D. PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS
D.1 Recognition of Appointed Members—Places 1,3,5,7
• D.2 Review of Board Ordinance
Debbie York reminded Members of the importance of attendance and brought up that there is a
possible error in the wording regarding the percentages for attendance. Debbie York will clarify it.
D.3 Discussion of Fall Bulb/Tree Event
The event will be held on 11/18/17 at the Community Garden. It was decided that the Commission
will donate Iris Bulbs and search for a Grant that would apply. Sandra Totty will follow up for
additional information regarding the event.
D.4 Discussion of Green Campus and Environmental Education Grant
Judging for all entries will be at the October KRHNB meeting. Packets were distributed to members
to deliver to the eligible schools.
E. DEPARTMENT UPDATES&GENERAL INFORMATION
E.1 Keep America Beautiful Certification Update—Debbie York,Assistant Director
Debbie York advised the Commission that the Certification requires 3-4 hours of training. She will
check into a possible webinar.
E.2 Governor's Community Achievement Award Project Update—Debbie York,Assistant Director
Debbie York advised that Joe Pack is reviewing the project design and will be working with TXDOT to
make it as maintenance free as possible.
F. CALENDAR OF EVENTS
F.1 Trash Bash—September 23,9:00 am—1:00 pm
Debbie York briefed the Commission on procedures for event.
F.2 Fix It Blitz Kick Off Breakfast—October 21,8:00 am
Debbie York explained that the Commission participates in the Kick Off Event and asked for
volunteers. Amy Steele and Kathy Luppy volunteered to help.
G. ADJOURNMENT
Kathy Luppy, President, adjourned the meeting at 6:43 pm.
