The Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas met on the 26T" day of
March, 2019, at 5:45 p.m. in the Neighborhood Services conference room.
A. CALL TO ORDER
Kathy Luppy called the meeting to order at 5:52 p.m.

B. CITIZENS PRESENTATION - None
C. ACTION ITEMS
C.1 Approval of minutes of the January 15, 2019 Keep NRH Beautiful Commission meeting.
Motion to approve, carried 6-0 as written.
C.2 Appoint Delegates to the Keep Texas Beautiful Conference,June 18-20,2019.
Kristin James will attend the entire conference. Other members expressed interest in attending just 1
day of the conference. Commission Member Mi'Shon Landry will be the keynote speaker at the
Conference. Members are to let Debbie York know by 4/9/19 if they are interested in going and she will
see about registering them, if the budget allows.
C.3 Schedule Volunteers for the Sounds of Spring Concerts.
Members volunteered to staff the table at all of the Sounds of Spring Concerts:

D. PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS
D.1 Discuss Photo Contest
It was decided by the Commission to discontinue the Photo Contest due to lack of participation. Last
year there were only about 30 entries from about 10 different people. The Commission awarded a total
of$225. After discussion, it was decided to use that money for advertising the various programs.
Chairperson Kathy suggested that the August 20, 2019 meeting be a "brainstorming" time for members
to bring new ideas to discuss.
D.2 Discuss Litter Prevention at Tex-Rail Station
Member Brandon Kelley advised the Commission that he has noticed a lot of litter around the platform
at the new Tex-Rail station on Smithfield; particularly cigarette butts. He asked if there was something
that the Commission could do to address that issue. Kristin James said that all of that area falls under
the care of the Transit Authority. She will contact someone in the City's Planning Dept. to see what can
be done, legally.
E. DEPARTMENT UPDATES AND GENERAL INFORMATION
E.1 Update on GCAA Landscape Project
Debbie York advised the Commission that the project should be completed in about a month. Once it is
complete, a date for the Ribbon Cutting will be set and the Commission will be advised.
E.2 Don't Mess with Texas Trash Off—April 6,2019
Volunteers will clean up litter on both sides of Davis Blvd. Brandon Kelley and Rene Martinez
volunteered to supervise the volunteers, which will include Teen Court Kids. Kristin James said she
would also be there.
E.3 Dates to Remember
• Chunk Your Junk Community Cleanup—Saturday, April 27, 2019; 9:00 am—12:00 pm
• Rain Barrel Class—Held March 23, 2019
Debbie York advised that there were 35 people in attendance with 17 of them being NRH
residents, who received the rebate from the Commission.
