The City of North Richland Hills convened the first Economic Development
Advisory Committee meeting for year 2002 in the Pre-Council Room at 11:50
a.m.
Steve Norwood welcomed the E.D. Advisory Committee and mentioned that
regularly scheduled meetings would not be necessary. Meetings would be held
when direction and advise would be appreciated from the E.D. Committee.
Currently the City is looking into a strategic plan for the Economic Development
Department to decide where time and money would best be spent since there is
a limited amount of funds.
John Pitstick proceeded to take the floor and review the Development Report
included in the packets passed out. Residential permits continue to be high with
year 2001 being the best year so far. Commercial permits were down in the last
couple of years due to the Mom 'n Pop businesses closing shop or moving to
another Cities. Businesses located at major intersections have been fairing well
and he feels the future looks bright.
Without further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:09 p.m.
