APPROVAL OF PLANS
AND AUTHORIZATION
FOR BIDS
Consideration of Approval of Plans and Authorization
for Bids on Municipal Building Complex
Mr. Bob Johnson of Komatsu and Associates
presented the plans and specifications on the
Municipal Building Complex for approval.
Mr. Johnson presented two alternates to be
considered along with the bids.
Alternate No. 1 stated that after bids are opened
and in the event that the lowest bid is in excess
of budgeted funds, the low bidder will be invited
to submit proposals based on alternate methods
of construction as he may choose. Such alternate
proposals must be accompanied by drawings in
sufficient quantity and of sufficient clarity
to allow the City Council and their Architects
to evalute and compare same to the plans and
speci fi cati ons.
Alternate No. 2 was a suggestion to reduce the
building area by deleting the Police wing of
the complex and at a later date, calling a bond
election to solely finance a new police and
jail facility.
