HomeMy WebLinkAboutKNRH 2020-10-20 Minutes „ MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE KEEP NORTH RICHLAND HILLS BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS,TEXAS, HELD AT THE North Richland Hills CITY HALL 4301 CITY POINT DRIVE OCTOBER 20,2020 The Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas met for an on-line meeting on the 20th day of October, 2020 at 5:45 p.m.from the Neighborhood Services Office. A. CALL TO ORDER Kathy Luppy called the meeting to order at 5:57 p.m. Present: Kathy Luppy Chairperson, Place 6 Amy Hedgecock Place 1 Amy Steele Place 2 Susan Young Place 3 MiShon Landry Place 4 Donah Tyner Place 5 Brandon Kelley Place 7 Absent: Kimberly Johnson Alternate Staff Members: Kristin James, Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services B. CITIZENS PRESENTATION No presentations. C. PUBLIC COMMENTS No Comments D. ACTION ITEMS D.1 Approve minutes of the September 15, 2020 Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission meeting. Minutes were approved as written. E. PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS E.1 Discussion regarding upcoming events and activities 1. Fix-it Blitz—October 24,2020—Kristin James gave update on Blitz. Advised there will be a total of 13 projects completed and 135 people have volunteered. Members were advised that they are welcome to stop by any of the events to introduce themselves and thank everyone for volunteering. This is especially important because the Breakfast had to be canceled. Kristin will send out the list of projects to the members. 2. Community Clean-up—October 24,2020—Kristin James gave information concerning the event in case members want to attend with their personal items. 3. Texas Trees Seminar and Tree Giveaway—November 14,2020—Kristin advised that she had been contacted by Texas A&M and was told the Water University is no more. That program has been discontinued. Therefore,the KNRHB event will be postponed. Commission members voted to move the Tree Giveaway to Arbor Day in the spring. Further details will be discussed at the January, 2021 meeting. Page 1 of 2 4. Christmas Lighting Contest—Kristin James advised that the information has been posted on the City's website as well as the Commission's Facebook page. Nominations will be accepted now through 3:00 pm on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020. Only nominated houses will be judged for the contest. Kristin will send out a list of all nominations to the commission members no later than Saturday morning, Dec. 12, 2020. Members will then visit each of the nominations on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13 between the hours of 6:00 pm thru 10:00 pm. Members should send the list of their winners to Kristin on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020 and she will make the announcement of the winners on social media. City staff will then deliver the signs and the gift cards to the winners. The Commission voted that the November and December,2020 meetings be canceled. F.
