The meeting of the City Council was called to order at 7:30 A.M. by the City Secretary, Evalyn R. Reed. PRESENT: Councilmen: Harold B. Daley Dick Faram J. F. Cato M. E. Riddle Marion L. Massey, City Attorney Stephen K. Shutt,_City Manager Evalyn R. Reed, City Secretary Mayor Calvin F. Luper Councilman P. M. Dodson Councilman J. R. Hubbard Councilman J. B. Sandlin STAFF PRESENT: ABSENT: CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 207 Councilman Daley moved, seconded by Councilman Faram, that this special City Council meeting be recessed until 5:45 P.M., Monday July 29, 1968. The motion carried by a vote of 4-0. The meeting of the City Council was called to order at 5:45 P.M. by Calvin F. Luper, Mayor. PRESENT: Mayor Councilmen: Calvin F. Luper P. M. Dodson Harold B. Daley Dick Faram J. F. Cato J. B. Sandlin M. E. Riddle Stephen K. Shutt, City Manager Evalyn R. Reed, City Secretary Councilman J. R. Hubbard Marion L. Massey, City Attorney STAFF PRESENT: ABSENT: CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 207 Councilman Daley moved, seconded by Councilman Cato, that the City Council approve and adopt Ordinance No. 207, an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 129, building code: defining exterior construction for multi-family, two family and one family dwellings; declaring an emergency and providing an effective date. ADJOURNMENT Councilman Cato moved, seconded by Councilman Faram, that the words concrete block be deleted from Section 1.01 of Article One, which would make this section read as follows: "Section 1.01 v. All multi-family, two family and one family dwellings shall have exterior walls constructed of 75% brick, stone or if approved by the City Council, other masonry or materials of equal characteristics." The motion on the amendment carried by a vote of 6-0. Upon a vote of the original motion, the motion carried by a vote of 6-0. There being no further items on the agenda for consideration, Councilman Daley moved, seconded by Councilman Cato, that this special City Council meeting be adjourned.
