MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, HELD
AT THE CITY HALL, 4101 MORGAN
CIRCLE, JANUARY 24, 1966
7:30 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mayor John P.
Hunter.
ROLL CALL
Those present: Mayor John P. Hunter, Councilmen
present: Dodson, Daley, King, Sandlin and Chester.
Councilmen absent: Dowell and Faram. Administrative
staff present: City Attorney, City Manager and City
Secretary.
INVOCATION
The invocation was given by Marion L. Massey.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING
Mr. King moved, seconded by Mr. Sandlin, that the
minutes of the meeting of January 10, 1966 be approved.
The motion carried unanimously.
PRESENTATIONS OF THE MAYOR
ELECTION PROCLAMATION
Mayor Hunter read an election proclamation calling
for the election of seven Councilmen and a Mayor, election
to be held April 5, 1966, in accordance with the City
Charter.
Mayor Hunter read Ordinance 147 calling an election
April 5, 1966, naming Judges and Clerks, providing for
filing, absentee voting, hours of voting. Mr. Daley
moved, seconded by Mr. Chester, that Ordinance 147 be
adopted. The motion carried unanimously.
REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER

Realigment of the intersection of
Holiday Lane and Oakland Lane

Mr. Dodson moved, seconded by Mr. Daley, that
Consulting Engineers prepare necessary geometries, City
Manager and City Attorney negotiate and secure necessary
right-of-way for the realigment of the intersection of
Holiday Lane and Oakland Lane. The motion carried
unanimously.

Purchase of Emergency Rescue Vehicle

Mr. King moved, seconded by Mr. Sandlin, that the
bid of GMC be rejected. After considerable discussion
Mr. King withdrew his motion and Mr. Sandlin withdrew his
second. Mr. Daley then moved, seconded by Mr. Sandlin,
that the City Attorney and City Manager meet with GMC
and work to secure purchase of the emergency vehicle at
$2,186.00, the price quoted to the City in a sealed bid
submitted by GMC. The motion carried unanimously.

Sale of Surplus Pick-up Truck

Mr. Chester moved, seconded by Mr. Dodson, that
the GMC Pick-up in the Public Works Department be sold
to Mr. Glenn M. Goodnight on his high bid of $45.00.
The motion carried unanimously.
ADDED ITEM TO THE AGENDA
CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT WITH RICHLAND HILLS - LIBRARY
Mr. Chester presented two draft contracts for
Council consideration covering joint participation in
library services between North Richland Hills and Rich-
land Hills. Mr. Dodson moved, seconded by Mr. King, that
a contract between the two cities providing for the pay-
ment of $3,000.00 for the fiscal year 1965-66, to the
City of Richland Hills. The motion carried unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. King moved, seconded by Mr. Sandlin, that the
meeting be adjourned. The motion carried unanimously.
