HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 1965-06-28 Minutes MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS HELD AT THE CITY HALL, 4101 mORGAN CIRCLE, JUNE 28, 1965 7:30 P.M. CALL TO ORDER The~eeting was called to order by Mayor John p. Hunter ROLL CALL Those present: Mayor Hunter, Councilmen: Dodson, Dowell, Faram, King, Sandlin and Chester. Admini$trative staff present: City Manager, City Attorney and City Secretary. INVOCATION The invocation was given by City Attorney, Marion L. Massey APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING Mr. Chester made a motion seconded by Mr. Faram that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved. The motion passed unanimously, 6-0. The Council stated that it would like to have a written report from the administrative staff on the procedures for handling juveniles by the Police Department. REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER CC G-10 Membership in the Greater Fort Worth Area Council of Governments Mr. Dowell made a motion seconded by Mr. King that the City of North Richland Hills become a member of the Greater Fort Worth Area Council of Governments. Mayor Hunter suggested that Alvis Dowell be appointed to represent North Richland Hills in the organization. The motion passed unanimously. CC G-11 Date for Puhlic Hearing on the 1965-66 Proposed Budget Mr. Dodson made a motion seconded by Mr. Dowell that ordinance #134 De adopted and the date of the public budget hearing be set on the date recommended in CC G-11, July 9, 1965, the motion passed unanimously. CC-PZ2 Recommendations of the Planning and Zoning Commission PZ-65-9 Lot 11, Block 2 of the North Richland Hills Addition from "Class A Residential to "Class C Residential". Mr. Dowell made a motion seconded by Mr. Sandlin that PZ 65-9 be approved. Mr. Dodson amended the motion in that the structure would have to be at least 60% masonry and that the apartments (4) have not less than 3,000 square feet of living area. This w10uld have to be met for a building permit to be issued on. this property. Mr. King seconded the amendment. The motion and amendment passed unanimously. PZ-65-10 Tract "A" Diamond Oaks South Addition; Lots 1,2, and 3 Block 1 of the Reeves Place Addition. Mr. Chester made a motion seconded by Mr. Sandlin that PZ 65-10 be approved. The motion carried 4-2, with Councilmen Chester, Sftndlin, King and Faram voting yes and Councilmen Dodson and Dowell voting no. REPORTS FROM COMMITTEES Mr. Dodson stated that at the last meeting of the Mid-Cities Advisory Committee, park planning was discussed. Mr. Faram stated that some time ago the Council had authorized Texas Electric to install street lights around Richland High School and that it had not yet been done.
