HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 1965-09-13 Minutes MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTHRICHLAND HILLS HELD AT THE .CI-TY HALL, 4101 MORGAN CIRCLE, SEPTEM?ER 13, 1965 7:30 P.M. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mayor John P. Hunter. ROLL CALL Those present: Councilmen Dodson, Dowell, Daley, King, Faram, Sandlin and Chester. Adminis trative staff present: City Attorney, City Manager, Street and Inspections Supervisor, Fi.re Chief and City Secretary. INVOCATION The invocation was given by Councilman Fred Chester. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING Mr. Daley moved and Mr. Chester seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved. The motion carried 6-1, with Councilman Faram abstaining (absent from the last meeting). CITIZEN PRESENTATIONS Mr. John D. Richardson spoke for a group of homeowners in the Hillview Addition to the City of North Richland Hills and asked the Council to rerrove the local retail zoning from Lots 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the Hillview Addition and to zone the lots back to Class A residential. Mr. Richardson also read and presen ted a petition to the Council signed by resi- dents of the Addition asking that the Council take the above mentioned action in regards to the local retail zoning on the above mentioned lots. The parties present were informed that the Council could not undo the work of another Council and that this was a civil matter. REPORTS PAVING OF WEBSTER STREET, HALTOM CITY Mayor Hunter stated that he had talked with the Mayor and City Manager of the City of Haltom City in reference to the paving of Webster Street. Although Webster Street is in Haltom City, Mayor Hunter pointed out that a great deal of the traffic thereon is from North Richland Hills. The possibility of joint reconstruction of Webster Street from State Highway 377 to Tourist Drive was discussed. -2- September 13, 1965 Mr. King moved, seconded by Mr. Daley, that the City Manager and the City Attorney investigate the matter for feasibility and for the legali ty of participation. REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER CC G-18 AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE NO. 69~ NUISANCE ORDINANCE (RACING PIGEONS) CC G-18 Mr. Chester moved, seconded by Mr. Daley, that the amendment to Ordinance No. 69 be adopted. The motion carried unanimously. CC C-7 PAY ESTIMATE NO. 2 NORTH HILLS DRIVE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT CONTRACT CC C-7 Mr. Dodson moved, seconded by Mr. Chester, that final payment less $10.00 be made to the Le-Tan Construction Company. The ten dollars is retained to keep the contract open. The motion passed unanimously. CC P- 3 PURCHASE OF FIRE HOSE CC p-3 Mr. King made a motion, seconded by Mr. Daley, that the bid of General Fire Extinguisher be accepted on the fire hose. It was noted that in the CC that the apparent low bid did not meet specifications. The motion passed unanimously. CC P- 4 PURCHASE OF STREET EQUIPMENT CC P-4 Mr. Chester made a motion, seconded by Mr. Sandlin, that the specifications for a grader, pick-up truck, tractor and patch unit as recommended by the City Manager and the Street and Inspections Supervisor be accepted. The motion passed unanimously. CC TA-5 ACCEPTANCE AND APPROVAL OF TAX ROLL CC TA-5 Mr. Dowell made a motion, seconded by Mr. Daley, that the 1965 Tax Roll be accepted. The motion carried unanimously.
