CITIZEN PRESENTATION/PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no public comments at this meeting. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Robbins moved to accept the minutes, Ms. Antropik seconded, and the minutes were unanimously approved. OVERDUE FEE ELIMINIATION PROPOSAL Ms. Barham presented the Eliminating Overdue Library Fees report and asked for support. Ms. Robbins motioned, Ms. Traywick seconded, and the proposal was unanimously approved to be presented at City Council. LIBRARY BOARD OFFICERS ELECTION Acting chair Jerry Sorenson commended chair Don Tipps for his many years of service in the NRH community and motioned to keep Mr. Tipps as the Library board chair. Ms. Mitchell seconded and all present members approved. Ms. Mitchell nominated and motioned to keep Mr. Sorenson as vice chair, Ms. Robbins seconded, all present members unanimously approved. LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORTS Ms. Barham reviewed the Library's statistics from September 2021 and answered questions. REPORT ON PROGRAMS AND EVENTS Ms. Barham reported on past Library events including: • Fall Concert Series: Odysseus Chamber players on 10/25 at 6:00pm had 96 people attending. • Mid-Cities Teen Book Fest on 10/15-10/16: Friday 10/15 held virtually had 462 participants, and Saturday 10/16 in person event had 130 attendees and 12 authors. And upcoming Library events including: • Fall Garden class on 11/2 at 5:30. • Part-time Staff Appreciation luncheon on 11/10 from 11:30am-2:OOpm. • Behind the History of Birdsong event on 11/11 at 6:00pm. • Fall Concert Series with Pete Branham group on 11/18 at 7:00pm. • NRH Christmas Tree Lighting event on 12/2 at 6:00pm. PERSONNEL UPDATE Part-time staff Phylis Mann and Marissa Major were recognized at the last City Council meeting for helping a patron. Adrienne Clay is the new part-time Library Associate in the Circulation department. NEXT MEETING DATE The next meeting will be held on November 18, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
