COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 7. 1953
Mayor 'Watson advised he was contacted by a Mr. Hrooks of the Telephone
Company in relation to obtaining a franchise and reÒ8.ting 2% of the gross
revenue to the City. Mr. Hrooks will be invited to the next Council meeting.
Mayor Watson read a letter from the Iaague of Texas Municipalities inviting
North Richland Hills to become a :member. Decision was not to join at this
time anti defer to next year.
A discussion ensuød concerning the request of two citiaens to pass a
compulsory paving ordinance; particularly as it concerned the sections still
undeveloped. Unanimous decision was to take no action.
Mr. lambert opened a discussion suggesting an ordinance prohibiting the
raising of pets on a commercial venture, and further prohibiting keeping of
goats, cows, horses, etc. Citizens will be contacted as to their desires
and formal action will be taken at the next meeting.

REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
North Richland Hills, Texas, was held on the 7th day of
~ August, 1953.
Mayor Watson advised that he was contacted by a
Mr. Brooks of the Telephone Company in relation to obtain-
ing a franchise, and rebating 2% of the gross revenue to the
City. Mr. Brooks will be invited to the next Council Meet-
ing.
Mayor Watson read a letter from the League of Texas
Municipalities inviting North Richland Hills to become a
member. Decision was not to join at this time, and to de-
fer to next year.
