HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 1957-04-12 Minutes ~inutes of the Gouncil Meeting 12 April 1957: The meeting was called to order at 8:05 I.K. The minutes of the previous Å“eeting were read and approved. Minutes of the 22 Feb- ruary 1957 meeting were read as requested in the previous minutes. Those present were: l~yor Nace, Oouncilmen Franklin, Kutilik, Ellenbur~, Putnam, and Wood. Visitors were: Ex~Mayor Denny, HI's. Futnam, Mssrs. Donaldson and Parchman. Mr. Denny turned over all the city records to Hayor Nace. Mayor Nace enumerated the 26 existin~ city ordinances. A discussion was held concerning the appointment of a city attorney and secretary-treasurer. Pl'. Ohristopher was mentioned for city attorney; Masrs. Tripp and Harbach were suggested for secretary- treasurer. Seven people were named to be contacted for membershir on the zoning board: viz, Lockett, McJee, Daley, Upchurch, Lokey, Renfro and Glark. A discussion of the traffic problem at the school was held, but no fire recommendations were made. It was recommended that operating procedures of the Building Fendt lnsr ector, Secretary-Treasurer, and Ji ty Attorney be drafted. lÚ. 1-Hchman addressed the Gouncil ;iving a brief history of Vance Road between lipeline and Hi:?;hway 121. He requested the Council to help obtain action on grading and resurfacing this segment of road. Mr. Wood made a motion that the Council appoint a committee to contact the County Oommissioner for 'days and l':eans to have this section of Vance Road re'l!0rked as soon as poasible. Mr. rutnam seconded the motion. Motion waa passed unanimously. Msars. Wood and Franklin were appointed to this task. Mr. Farchman asked the Oouncil for permission to pave Iarchman Road in accordance with the pavin~ ordinance. It was moved and seconded that ßr. Parchman be~ranted permission rrovided a mlnlmum of a 6ft gravel base and 2-shot penetration method surface was used. Motion was passed by all except Mr. Ellenburg, who had previously left the meeting. Discussion was held to ask permission to erect a bulletin board at the North Richland Hills Shopping Oènter. Mr. Futnam was to contact Mr. Jones for such permission. Mr. Putnam moved and had seconded and passed that the account books of North Richland Hills be audited by a OFA.
