HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 1959-03-09 Minutes REGULAR CITY COUNC IL MEET ING MARCH 9, 1959 The regu~ar council meeting of the North Rich1and Hills ~ity Council was held March 9, 1959 in the Civic League Building, Pipe Line Rd. at Morgan Circle and waS called to order at 7;30 P.M. with the Mayor and councilmen Rowe, Kuti1ek, Graner" Franklin and Putman present. also a large number of guests. After the reading and approval of the minutes of the last regular meeting, the minutes of a special council meeting were read and appro- ved and was then followed by the monthly audit. There then came a discussion on the purposed signal light at the inter- setion of hwy. 121 and Rufe Snow Dr. The Ordinance was read to the council by 1~. Graner" after which the council desided to delay action on the matter until a later date. 1~. Renfro then gave the report of the Zoning Commission. The Zoning Board wd11 continue to accépt apDlications for zoning and rezoning on an individual bases, or if the council prefers, the Board will exclude the old developed area. The Commission requested they be given a letter from the Council stating their views on this matter. The Board has four pitions on hand for zoning, Wåch t~ey wish to hold public hearings on. There were a number of Electrical Contractors present which partispated in an open discussion on the recently adopted Electrical Ordinance for North Rich1and Hills. ~~. McFarland announced that the Council would, consider allowing Mr. Reconnu to hire an assist~ for the purpose of making inspections durLDg the hours which he is not available. Also the Council would consider the possiabilties of securing a full time inspector. There then came a request from Mr. H. T. Vfurthington that the Council release the old Smithfie~or reincropration. Mr. McFarland said the Council didn't have to release that area. Mr. Kutlik made motiom that the City adopt Ordinances Jf36A, #37 Aand #38A, which reaffirm the original Ordinance on Richland Oaks. 1~. Graner seconded the motion, which passed. Mr. McFarland then appointed a 3 man üommittee to study the parposed plumbing Ordinance . Mr. Granen, Mr. Rowe, and Mr. Kutilek, to make up that commettee. r ... The Council set up an Electrical Board, for the purpose of holding the examinations for electrical License in the City.
