SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING------------------May 2. 1960
The City Council of North Richland Hills held a special Council meeting May 2.
1960, at the City Office, 7109 Grapevine Hwy., and Was called to order at 7:34
P. M. with Councilmen Graner, Bell, Johns and Campbell present with Mayor Pro-
tem Zellers presiding.
As the meeting had been called for the purpose of studying the Zoning Commission's
reconunendat ions concerning the Nor lEast Addition, Mr. Howell, Mr. Davis, Mr.
Henry and Mr. Randal of said Addition were present as were Mr. French and Mr.
Croft of the Zoning Commission. Arter lengthy discussion and study ot all data
and plats concerning said Addition, Mr. Bell moved for the Council to accept a
variance to the Nor lEast Addition for 60 lots as shown in the attached plat
dated Sept. 14, 1959 with a minimum of 1050 Sq. Ft. living area for houses to
be built on said lots. Mr. Graner seconded the motion which carried.
Mr. Campbell moved that },fr. Zellers be sent to Austin to attend institute for
Mayors and Councilmen on June 24 and 25 with the City covering his expenses.
Mr. Graner seconded the mot ion which carried.
Mr. Graner moved that Mr. K. B. (Ace) Ne;¡ce be appointed as Chairman of a
Conunittee with a responsibility of studingaxisting police forces in area Cities
and reporting his recommendations to the Council for the formation of a Police
Department for our City. Motj¡on was seconded by Mr. Johns and motion carried.
It was decided to send letters to the Mayor, Police Chief and City Manager of
Haltom City inviting them to meet with the Council on Monday night, May 16.
1960, to discuss formation of a Police Department.
Mr. Johns moved to adjourn at 10:00 P. M. and was seconded by Mr. Bell and
carried.
