CALL TO ORDER & ROLL CALL: Tbose Present: Mayor Hunter; Councilmen Bell, White and campbell. Councilmen Terrell and Johns absent. ADMINISTR~TIVE STAFF PRESENT: City Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Chief of Police, Fire Chief, City Clerk, City Attorney and City Secretary. Ii~VOCATION: Councilman campbe1J. APPROVAL OF MIN~TES: Mr. White pointed out that in Paragraph 10, Itèm 3 the date should read IIJuly 31, 1961" instea.d of "July 24, 196111.. With this cor- rection the minutes were approved 3-0. COMMUNICATIONS: (a) Letter and contract from Crowley, Wright, Miller & Garrett was presented a.nd as prior action hed been taken to approve, Mayor Hunter and City Secretary signed said contract. (b) Letter and Tax Roll as presented by Tax Assessor-Collector was studied a.nd. Mr. Campbell moved thJ:tt the tax ro1l,as prepe.red by Mr. N. E. James, Tax AssesBor-ColJector, be approved. Mr. Bel] sBcondcè. end motion carried 3-0. (Mrs. Ray to make coples for all Council members.) J. SERVICE STATICN ORDINANCE: Mr. Goodnight explained the proposed Ordinance regulating the usage of gasoline service stations. After discussion Mr. White moved to adopt Ordinance, sa.id Ordinance to be kno¡.rn as Ordinance No. .§1. Mr. Bell seconded and motion carried 3-0. 2. COUNTY TAXES - CIVIC CENTER. ~layor Hunter told Council thB.t the County Taxes on the Civic Center was cut to $130.62 and this had been paid. 3. FENCING AROUND SWIMMING POOLS - NEED OF ORDINANCE. The need of an Ordin&nce requiring swimming pools to be fenced was discussed and the City Attorney offered to l()ok into such an Orn.i- n~nce . Page 68 4. WEED ORDINANCE REVAMPING. Discussion concerning present Weed Ordinancp brought out the fact that it could not be enforced ~oo well. Mr. Goodnight stated he would like to draw up a nevl Ordinance that could ;)e enforced. Mr. Dell moved for the present Weed Ordinance be revised and Bubmi tt~d to Council for study. Mr. CampbelJ seconded and motion carried ;-0. 5. BILL - CABINET vJORK - NEW CITY OFFICE. The Mfl:'cr pre sented to Cou no 11 a bill from Jack I s Cabinet Shop for desks and cabinets instalJed at the new site of the City Offices and explained that a new Council table should have been included as an itemized item in the total bill of $542.00. Mr. Bell moved approval of invoice subject to written addition of Council Table. Mr. White seconded and motion carried 3-0. 6. ADDED ITEM TO AGENDA: Mr. French asked Council to add Mr. John Barfield to the agenda explaining that Mr. Barfield would li~e epprova1 on the 2nd. filing of the Woodcrest Addition. Preliminary Pls.t had been approved earlier, but since the addition was situated both in Hurat and North Richl&nd Hills, the boundary line cut some lots intwo making for confusion. Mr. Campbell moved to edd Mr. Barfield to the agenda with Mr. Bell seconding and motion carried 3-0. After discussion between Council, City Attorney and Mr. Barfield, Mr. Campbell moved to Etpprove plat of 2nd. filing 0 f the Woodcre st Add. subject to Hurst approving the establishing of a common bound- ary between the two Cities w~ich logically would be the back ease- ments of Blocks 8 & 9. Mr. Barfield is to present Mr. Goodnight with metes & boUnds. Mr. White seconded the motion. It W&S stipu- le-ted that Uayor Hunter was not to sign the plat until City Attor- ney gave approval. Motion carried 3-0. 7. PROTEST - REZONING OF LONSDALE ADD. AREA. - MR. ELLIS. Mr. John Ellis, Attorney, told Council he represented Davis Memorial Methodist Church, in protesting the rezoning of an area of the Lonsdale Add. Mr. Bell explained to Mr. Ellis that he should ask to be put on the agenda for the next regular meeting since two members of Council were absent. Mr. Campbell stated Mr. Ellis should make this request by letter. ADJOURNHENT: Mr. Campbell moved for adjournment at 8:40 P.M. and Mr. "white seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
