The Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas met for a meeting on
the 19th day of July, 2022 at 5:45 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall.
A. CALL TO ORDER
Brianne Goetz called the meeting to order at 5:49 p.m.

C. ACTION ITEMS
C.1 Approve minutes of the June 21, 2022 Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission meeting.
Minutes were approved unanimously with no corrections.
D. PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS
D.1 Welcome New Members to Keep NRH Beautiful Commission
Kristin James welcomed the two new members, Kathleen Kaiser, Place 4, and Steve Chaney,Alternate,
to the commission. All other members present introduced themselves. Ms.James then gave a Power
Point presentation overview of the purpose & history of the Commission. She also highlighted each of
the programs that the Commission currently facilitates.
D.2 Discuss the Redesign of the Keep NRH Beautiful Logo
Sarah Green,Cultural Arts Program Coordinator for the NRH Parks Dept.was present to discuss the
redesign of the KNRHB logo & new mascot that was discussed at the June 21, 2022 meeting. She had
designed 3 different mascots: Benny the Bat,Arnie the Armadillo and Buzzy the Bee. Members
suggested 2 other ideas to consider: baby possum or a bird. She will also work on adding a bird to the
tree logo for consideration. Sarah will work on those and bring drawings to the next meeting. Ms.
Green also presented her drawings fora new logo for the Commission.

The three most liked was the tree on the hill,the bird on a limb and the lotus flower with the name of
the commission on them. Kristin James will email the drawings to each member for them to review and
consider prior to the next meeting. Designs for the mascots will be posted on the KNRHB Facebook
page e for citizens to vote on.
D.3 Discuss New Programs for Schools
Kristin James distributed an updated draft of the application form for the new JumpStart School Garden
Grant. Members reviewed the form. The due date of the application was discussed on whether it
should be a later date in the year as PTA organizations probably would not start meeting until October.
It was decided that the date would be pushed back to October 14, 2022 so the applications can be
reviewed at the October 18, 2022 meeting of the Commission. It was noted that the planting of the
items could be done in the spring, prior to April 28th, 2023 if the winners so choose. Photos and reports
on the projects will be submitted to the Commission. The members discussed whether pre-schools

class on July 21, 2022, arrive at 5:30 to help set up.
