SUBJECT: Approve minutes of the March 30, 2023 Library Board meeting.

SUMMARY:
The minutes listed are approved by majority vote of the Library Board members at
Library Board meetings.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Library office prepares action minutes for each Library Board meeting. The
minutes for the previous meeting are placed on the agenda for review and approval by
the Library Board. Upon approval of the minutes, an electronic copy will be uploaded to
the City's website.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve minutes of the March 30, 2023 Library Board meeting.

CALL TO ORDER
Chair Don Tipps called the meeting to order on March 30, 2023 at 6.00 pm.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
There were no public comments in this meeting.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Sorenson moved to accept the minutes, Ms. Mitchell seconded, and the minutes were
unanimously approved.
REVISED STUDY ROOM POLICY
Ms. Barham presented the revised Study and Collaboration Room policy to the board
members and asked for approval. After reviewing and discussing it, Ms. Donahoo motioned,
Ms. Traywick seconded and the policy was unanimously approved with suggested
corrections.
LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORTS
Ms. Barham reviewed the Library's statistics from February 2023 and answered questions.
REPORT ON PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
Ms. Barham reported on past Library events including:
• Behind the Book author event with CJ Box on 2/28 at 1:OOpm: over 200 people
attended the speaking event.
• Celebrating Culture series with Reel Treble performance on 3/13 at 6:OOpm: 136
people attended.
• STEM night outreach at Richland Middle School on 2/23: 107 people stopped by the
Library's booth
• Career Day outreach at Richland Middle School on 3/10: 157 people stopped by the
Library's booth
And upcoming Library events including:
• Friends of the Library Fundraiser event on 4/15 from 5-00-9.00 pm at Chipotle.
• 50's Day themed party event to celebrate NRH's 70t" Anniversary .
• Free Comic Book Day event on 5/6 from 1:00-3:OOpm.
GENERAL INFORMATION
PERSONNEL UPDATE
Monica Phillips was promoted to Children's Department Supervisor, and her former position
has been posted.
NEXT MEETING DATE
The next meeting will be held on April 27, 2023 at 6.00 pm.
