PRESENTER: Cecilia Barham, Library Director SUMMARY: The minutes listed are approved by majority vote of the Library Board members at Library Board meetings. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Library office prepares action minutes for each Library Board meeting. The minutes for the previous meeting are placed on the agenda for review and approval by the Library Board. Upon approval of the minutes, an electronic copy will be uploaded to the City's website. RECOMMENDATION: Approve minutes of the October 26, 2023 Library Board meeting. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no public comments in this meeting. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Mitchell moved to accept the minutes, Ms. Antropik seconded, and the minutes were unanimously approved. NEW LIBRARY BOARD MEMBER INTRODUCTION Mr. Breneman introduced himself to Chair Mr. Tipps since he was absent at last month's meeting. CARDHOLDER PATTERNS REPORT Ms. Tannahill presented the Patron Patterns via Savannah/OrangeBoy report. LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORTS Ms. Barham reviewed the Library's statistics from September 2023 and answered questions. Three edits were made: Key indicators are from September, Circulation for FY23 was 604,512 and FY22 was 633,123. REPORT ON PROGRAMS AND EVENTS Ms. Barham reported on past Library event: • Homeschool Meet and Greet on September 22, 2023 had 97 attendees. • Homeschool Meet-Up and Science program on October 6 had 134 attendees. And upcoming Library events including: • Behind the Book: Texas Edition with S.C. Gwynne on November 15. • City of NRH's Tree Lighting event on November 30. • Winter Reading Challenge from November 30 to January 31. PERSONNEL UPDATE No personnel updates were discussed. NEXT MEETING DATE The next meeting will be held on November 27, 2023 at 6.00 pm.
