PRESENTER: Cecilia Barham, Library Director SUMMARY: The minutes listed are approved by majority vote of the Library Board members at Library Board meetings. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Library office prepares action minutes for each Library Board meeting. The minutes for the previous meeting are placed on the agenda for review and approval by the Library Board. Upon approval of the minutes, an electronic copy will be uploaded to the City's website. RECOMMENDATION: Approve minutes of the September 19, 2024 Library Board meeting. MINUTES OF THE LIBRARY BOARD OF THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS HELD IN THE LIBRARY BOARD ROOM LOCATED AT 9015 GRAND AVENUE September 19, 2024 Board Participants: Holly Mitchell Board Member, Place 2 Lisa Martinez Board Member, Place 4 Deborah Smith Board Member, Place 6 Erin Rodriguez Board Member, Alternate Absent: Don Tipps Chair, Place 1 Kathy Antropik Board Member, Place 3 Robert Breneman Board Member, Place 5 Jerry Sorenson Board Member, Place 7 Staff Participants: Cecilia Barham Library Director Cathy McNeely Library Clerk CALL TO ORDER Library Director Cecilia Barham called the meeting to order on August 15, 2024, at 6.00 pm, and asked the board to appoint a member to chair the remainder of the meeting as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman were not present. Ms. Smith motioned to appoint Ms. Mitchell, Ms. Rodriguez seconded, and all unanimously agreed. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no public comments in this meeting. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Martinez moved to accept the minutes, Ms. Smith seconded, and the minutes were unanimously approved. SERVICE ANIMALS POLICY Ms. Barham presented the new Service Animals policy draft to the board members and asked for approval. After reviewing and discussing it, Ms. Mitchell motioned, Ms. Rodriguez seconded, and the policy was unanimously approved. LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORTS Ms. Barham reviewed the Library's statistics from August 2024 and answered questions. REPORT ON PROGRAMS AND EVENTS Ms. Barham reported on past Library events: • Homeschool Science on 9/6 at 11:00am: 85 people participated. • loni Creek Bluegrass performance on 9/14 at 3:OOpm: 125 people attended. • Mapping the Journey educational series on 9/16 at 2:OOpm: 27 people attended. And upcoming Library events including: • Reading with Mollie's Friends 10 Year Anniversary on 9/21 from 10:30am-12.00pm. • Friends of the Library Book Sale on 10/5 from 10:OOam-3:OOpm. • Mad Hatter's Tea Party on 10/12 from 1:00-3:OOpm. • Behind the Book Texas Edition author event with Joe Lansdale on 10/15 at 7.00pm. &CONTENT PURCHASE REPORT Ms. Barham presented the E-Content purchase report and explained how digital content is acquired and circulated, and answered questions. PERSONNEL UPDATE No personnel updates were discussed in this meeting. NEXT MEETING DATE The next meeting will be held on October 17, 2024 at 6:OOpm. ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 7:OOpm.
