A. CALL TO ORDER
B. PUBLIC COMMENTS
An opportunity for citizens to address the Keep NRH Beautiful Commission
on matters which are scheduled on this agenda for consideration by the
Board, but not scheduled as a public hearing. In order to address the Keep
NRH Beautiful Commission during public comments, a Public Meeting
Appearance Card must be completed and presented to the recording
secretary prior to the start of the Keep NRH Beautiful Commission meeting.

SUBJECT: Approve minutes of the October 15, 2024 Keep NRH Beautiful
Meeting
PRESENTER: Kristin James, Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services
SUMMARY:
The minutes are listed on the consent agenda and approved by majority vote of
Commission at the Keep NRH Beautiful Commission meetings.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Neighborhood Services Department prepares action minutes for each Keep NRH
Beautiful meeting. The minutes for the previous meeting are placed on the agenda for
review and approval by the Keep NRH Beautiful Commission. Upon approval of the
minutes, an electronic copy will be uploaded to the City's website.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the minutes of the October 15, 2024 Keep NRH Beautiful meeting.

The Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas met
for a meeting on the 15t" day of October 2024 at 5.45 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall.
A. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5.58 p.m.

B. PUPLIC COMMENTS
No citizens present for Public Comment.
C. ACTION ITEMS
CA Approve minutes of the September 17, 2024, Keep NRH Beautiful Meeting.
Bill Whitsett motioned to approve the minutes, and the motion was seconded by Donah
Tyner. The Commission then approved the minutes unanimously.
D. PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS
DA Discuss the Results of the 2024 Trash Bash

Kristin James reported that the Trash Bash went well. There was a total of 187 volunteers at
the event and approximately 3,000 pounds of trash was collected during the event. She then
played for the committee the recap videos that were created for the event.
C.2 Judge the Jumps Start Your Garden Grant Program Applications
Kristin James handed out a packet of all the applications received by the Commission. Chair
Luppy asked that the commission take 15 minutes to review each application. After the
Commission took the time to read over each application, they came back together to discuss
each of them. The Commission agreed that Holiday Heights Elementary School, North Ridge
Elementary School and Walker Creek Elementary School were the 2024 winners for the
Jump Start Your Garden Grant.
C.3 Discuss the KNRHB School Programming
Mrs. James reported that there were a few upcoming school functions that the Commission
had signed up for in the upcoming weeks. The commission discussed the activities they
would be doing at each, including — Thankful Turkeys, Recycle Relay, reading, and the Trash
Wheel.
D.2 Discuss Classes and Schedule for 2024
Mrs. James presented the following schedule to the Commission:
Landscape Design Basics — Thursday, October 17 @ 5.30 pm at NRH Library
Fix It Blitz (Volunteer Opportunity-Not KNRHB) — Saturday, October 19
Foster Village Trunk or Treat — Monday, October 28
NRH Shred Day (Not KNRHB) — Saturday, November 2 @ 9.00 am at BISD Plaza (First
come first served, until trucks are full)
Snow Heights Polar Bash — Saturday, November 9
Walker Creek Thanksgiving Program — Friday, November 15
KNRHB Meeting — No November Meeting Unless Needed
Foster Village Thanksgiving Program —Friday, November 22
Christmas Light Judging — Sunday, December 8
Christmas Light Judging — Monday, December 9 (if needed)
Open Application for KNRHB Scholarship — Monday, January 6

The Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas met
for a meeting on the 15th day of December 2024 at 4.30 p.m. in the front parking lot of City Hall.

B.1 Judge the 2024 Christmas Lighting Contest
Judging of the Christmas lights began at 6.00 pm and ended at 10.00 pm. The following is
the list of winners:
Area 1 — 3912 Lochridge Ct.
Area 2 — 4917 Reynolds
Area 3 — 6557 Lakeside Circle
Area 4 — 6817 Westbury Dr.
Area 5 — 8505 Newman Dr.
Area 6 - 7112 Four Sixes Ranch Rd.
Area 7 — 6828 Walter Rd.
Area 8 - 7505 Acts. Ct.
Area 9 — 7312 Bursey Rd.
Judging by the Commission was based on arrangement, variety, and overall "WOW' factor.

Each year Keep NRH Beautiful applied for the Governor's Community Achievement
Award through Keep Texas Beautiful.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Governor's Community Achievement Award application is open and due on
February 13, 2025. During this item, staff will discuss the grant application.

the year. This item allows for the Commission to discuss the upcoming schedule of
events and activities.
