1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Sally Bustamante called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. on February 27, 2024.
2. ROLL CALL
Sally Bustamante held roll call for commission members and present were Melissa Kates,
Marvin Smith,Gregory Hoffa and alternate B Eric Bales.September Daniel and alternate A
Renee Shiflet were not present. Eric Bales acted as a voting member of the commission.
3.CITIZEN PRESENTATION
Sally Bustamante gave the public the opportunity to address the Civil Service Commission.
Sabrina Markum informed Sally there were no citizens requesting to speak.
4. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Sabrina Markum informed the Civil Service Commission there were no citizens requesting to
speak.

5.APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Sally Bustamante requested approval of minutes for the Civil Service Commission Meeting on July 21,
2023. Melissa Kates made the first motion,Gregory Hoffa made the second motion. Motion was passed.
6. NOMINATION AND SELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR FOR 2024
Melissa Kates nominated Sally Bustamante as chair, Marvin Smith made the second motion. Motion was
passed.Gregory Hoffa nominated September Daniel as vice-chair, majority ruled and motion was
passed.
7. REVIEW CITY COMPENSATION AND BENEFIT PROGRAMS
Patrick Hillis gave a presentation on the City compensation and benefit programs.
8.ADJOURNMENT
Sally Bustamante called the meeting to adjourn at 7:21 P.M. February 27,2024. Marvin Smith made the
first motion. Majority ruled.Motion was passed.
