Meeting

SUMMARY:
The minutes are listed on the consent agenda and approved by majority vote of
Commission at the Keep NRH Beautiful Commission meetings.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Neighborhood Services Department prepares action minutes for each Keep NRH
Beautiful meeting. The minutes for the previous meeting are placed on the agenda for
review and approval by the Keep NRH Beautiful Commission. Upon approval of the
minutes, an electronic copy will be uploaded to the City's website.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the minutes of the January 21 , 2025 Keep NRH Beautiful meeting.

The Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas met
for a meeting on the 21St day of January 2025 at 5.45 p.m. in the Neighborhood Services Conference
Room.
A. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5.45 p.m.

No citizens present for Public Comment.
C. ACTION ITEMS
CA Approve minutes of the October 15, 2024 Keep NRH Beautiful Meeting.
Bill Whitsett motioned to approve the minutes, and the motion was seconded by Donah Tyner.
The Commission then approved the minutes unanimously.
C.2 Approve minutes of the December 15, 2024 Keep NRH Beautiful Meeting.

D. PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS
DA Discuss Governor's Community Achievement Award

Chair Kathy Luppy introduced the item by explaining to the Commission what the Governor's
Community Achievement Award (GCAA) is and a history of how the Commission had won the
award in the past.
Kristin James then presented the application has been filled out and is ready to be reviewed
by the Commission. Then she discussed the judging process for the application. She asked
that the Commission have comments to her by February 7 in order to have enough time to
submit the application by the deadline of February 14.

SUBJECT: Discuss the KNRHB Youth Programming
PRESENTER: Kristin James, Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services
SUMMARY:
The Keep NRH Beautiful Commission is exploring different opportunities to provide
environmental education to the youth in our community.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This item allows for discussion of the commission's current youth education programs,
as well as ideas for ways the commission can get more involved in environmental
education within NRH schools.

SUMMARY:
This item allows for the opportunity to discuss areas they would like to focus their litter
cleanup efforts this year.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Keep NRH Beautiful facilitates litter cleanups throughout the year. This item allows for
the review of the Litter Index Study completed in November 2024 and talk about what
areas they would like to focus litter their cleanup efforts in 2025.

SUBJECT: Discuss 2025 Photo Contest
PRESENTER: Kristin James, Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services
SUMMARY:
Keep NRH Beautiful holds its annual photo contest each summer and this item allows
for discussion on this topic.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Each June the Keep NRH Beautiful Commission holds its annual photo contest. During
this item, commission members will discuss the theme for this year's contest, prizes,
and also the dates of when the contest will take place.
The photo contest is held virtually. Photos are submitted through the NRH website and
then posted on Facebook for a certain amount of time. The photos with the greatest
number of "likes" are our winners.
