PRESENTER: Cecilia Barham, Library Director SUMMARY: The minutes listed are approved by majority vote of the Library Board members at Library Board meetings. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Library office prepares action minutes for each Library Board meeting. The minutes for the previous meeting are placed on the agenda for review and approval by the Library Board. Upon approval of the minutes, an electronic copy will be uploaded to the City's website. RECOMMENDATION: Approve minutes of the March 20, 2025 regular Library Board meeting. PUBLIC COMMENTS This meeting had no public comments. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Breneman moved to accept the minutes, Ms. Mitchell seconded, and the minutes were unanimously approved. LIBRARY STAFF INTRODUCTION Ms. Barham introduced Amanda Morrissey and Allecia Pipkin, Librarians in the Children Department, who briefly talked about their role at the Library. They also presented the 2025 Mayor Summer Reading Club program highlights, including performances, activities, crafts, prizes, and incentives. The kickoff party will be on 5/3 at 10.00am. LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT Ms. Barham recommended a reduction of key performance indicators to 5 sources: Circulation, Digital Circulation, Program Attendance, Total Visits, and Facilities Utilization. Ms. Barham proposed this revision to the board; Mr. Breneman motioned, Mr. Chambers seconded, all agreed and accepted the recommendation. PRINT USER DEMOGRAPHICS REPORT Ms. Barham presented Savannah, a cloud-based platform that generates reader cluster breakdown and distribution for print materials, print materials usage, physical circulation by age groups, and answered questions. REPORT ON PROGRAMS AND EVENTS Ms. Barham reported on past Library events: • Behind the Book author event with CJ Box on 2/25 at 1:OOpm: 302 people attended. • Super Mario Day event on 3/10 from 3:00-5:OOpm: 510 people participated. • Homeschool Science program on 3/14 at 11:00am: 135 people participated. And upcoming Library events including: • Gatsby Gala event on 4/8 at 6:OOpm. • Friends of the Library Book Sale on 4/12 from 10:OOam-3:OOpm. • Friends of the Library Annual Membership meeting on 4/14 at 6:30pm. • Volunteer Appreciation dinner on 4/24 at 6:OOpm. PERSONNEL UPDATE The Circulation department has one full-time Library Clerk position vacant. NEXT MEETING DATE The next meeting will be held on April 17, 2025 at 6:OOpm.
