CALL TO ORDER
Chairwoman Kathy Antropik called the meeting to order on October 16, 2025, at 6:01 pm.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
This meeting had no public comments.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Chambers moved to accept the minutes, Ms. Linford seconded, and the minutes were
unanimously approved.
LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Ms. Barham reviewed the library's key performance indicators from September 2025 and
answered questions.
REPORT ON PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
Ms. Barham reported on past Library event:
• Sombati World Music performance on 9/20 at 3:00pm: 96 people attended.
• Friends of the Library Book Sale on 10/4 from 10:00-3:OOpm: over 1,300 people
attended.
• Homeschool Science on 10/10 at 11:00am: 86 people participated.
• Folk Americana music performance on 7/14: 73 people attended.
• Behind the Book TX Edition event with author Elizabeth Crook on 10/16 at 1:00pm:
62 people attended.
And upcoming events, including:
• Joyful Paint Along on 10/28 at 6:00pm.
• North Texas Bot Battles on 11/1 at 10:00am.
• Ballet Folklorico performance on 11/1 at 3:00pm.
• Behind the Book event with author Katherine Center on 12/10 at 1:00pm.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM ADVISORY COMMITTEE REQUESTS UPDATE
Ms. Barham reported to the board the Library Expansion and Renovation Project Proposal
she presented to the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee. The demonstration included
last fiscal year numbers of visitors, checkouts, program attendance, materials collections,
programs, Library facilities' history s and current situation.
The project goals are to expand the community room; to create a family friendly first floor; to
expand the Children's area; to have additional study and collaboration rooms, and to
expand the Circulation workroom. Ms. Barham opened room for discussion and answered
questions.
PERSONNEL UPDATE
There is one part-time Library Associate position vacant in the Circulation department.
NEXT MEETING DATE
The next meeting will be held on November 20, 2025 at 6:00pm.
