HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2026-011 RESOLUTION NO. 2026-011 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE 2025 TARRANT COUNTY HAZARD MITIGATION ACTION PLAN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of North Richland Hills recognizes the threat that various hazards pose to people and property within Tarrant County; and WHEREAS, the County of Tarrant and participating jurisdictions have updated the multi- hazard mitigation plan, hereby known as 2025 Tarrant County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan, in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000; and WHEREAS, the 2025 Tarrant County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan identifies mitigation goals and actions to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property in the City of North Richland Hills from the impacts of future hazards and disasters; and WHEREAS, an adopted hazard mitigation plan is required as a condition of future funding for mitigation projects under multiple Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) pre- and post-disaster mitigation grant programs; and WHEREAS, adoption by the City of North Richland Hills demonstrates their commitment to the hazard mitigation and achieving the goals outlined in the 2025 Tarrant County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby finds that the recitals set forth above are true and correct and are incorporated into this Resolution as if written herein. SECTION 2. The City of North Richland Hills hereby adopts the 2025 Tarrant County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan. SECTION 3. The Office of Emergency Management and applicable departments are encouraged to continue to pursue implementation of the recommended actions as feasible and appropriate. SECTION 4. All Resolutions of the City Council of the City in conflict herewith are hereby amended or repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption, and it is so resolved.
