SUBJECT: Election of Chair and Vice-Chair
PRESENTER: Adrien Pekurney, Parks and Recreation Director
SUMMARY:
The purpose of this item is to elect members of the Advisory Committee on Senior Affairs
to serve as chair and vice-chair for the term of one year.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Advisory Committee on Senior Affairs hold elections for the positions of chair and
vice-chair each August after City Council finalizes appointments to the Boards and
Commissions.
This item is being placed on the agenda for action by the Advisory Committee on Senior
Affai rs.
RECOMMENDATION:
Elect a chair and vice-chair for a single term of June 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

SUBJECT: Overview of Committee Role
PRESENTER: Adrien Pekurney, Director of Parks and Recreation
SUMMARY:
The Advisory Committee on Senior Affairs provides continued opportunities for education and
engagement of seniors within NRH in the following base categories:
• Promotion and awareness of available resources and services for seniors.
• Serve as a liaison between the senior community and the city by seeking input to enhance
the health and quality of life of seniors in the community.
• Develop partnerships in the community to educate, inform, and improve the quality of life
for seniors.
• Collaborate with local organizations, the NRH senior center, nonprofits, and agencies
serving older adults.
• Assist in promoting events and initiatives for seniors.
Your role as an active committee member is vital to the success of these efforts:
• Providing insight and recommendations
• Represent diverse senior perspectives
• Engage with the community
• Support communication between seniors and the city

Community engagement through multiple city departments and a variety of city events
takes place throughout the year. Staff will review the upcoming city events throughout
the spring 2026 season.

SUBJECT: Calendar of Committee Meeting Schedule
PRESENTER: Adrien Pekurney, Director of Parks and Recreation
SUMMARY:
Based on the feedback provided via the quarterly meeting questionnaire, the first Tuesday
at 1:30pm was day and time identified with the most availability. By identifying the
schedule now, we hope it provides ample planning to incorporate these meetings into
your personal schedules. T
The proposed schedule for the upcoming quarterly ACSA Meetings are:
• TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2026 @ 1:30 PM
• TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2026 @ 1:30 PM
• TUESDAY, JANUARY 5, 2027 @ 1:30 PM
*Meetings will be held at NRH City Hall unless otherwise communicated. Specific room
location within City Hall for the meetings will be finalized and distributed to the committee.
