SUMMARY:
The minutes listed are approved by majority vote of the Library Board members at
Library Board meetings.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Library office prepares action minutes for each Library Board meeting. The
minutes for the previous meeting are placed on the agenda for review and approval by
the Library Board. Upon approval of the minutes, an electronic copy will be uploaded to
the City's website.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the minutes of the April 30, 2026 regular Library Board meeting.

Chairwoman Kathy Antropik called the meeting to order on April 30, 2026, at 5.58 pm.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
This meeting had no public comments.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ms. Herron moved to accept the minutes, Ms. Smith seconded, and the minutes were
unanimously approved.
LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Ms. Barham reviewed the library's key performance indicators from March 2026 and
answered questions.
REPORT ON PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
Ms. Barham reported on past Library event:
• Craft Swap on 3/21 from 11:00am-1:OOpm: 128 people participated.
• Wester Music with Krystin Harris on 3/24 at 6:OOpm: 97 people attended.
• NRH Art Fest on 4/11 at Grand Hall/NRH Centre from 11:00am-5:OOpm: 477 people
participated.
• Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on 4/22 at 6:OOpm: 62 people attended.
And upcoming events, including:
• Behind the Book with author Yangsze Choo on 5/7 at 1:OOpm.
• Free Comic Book Day on 5/9 from 10:00am-12:OOpm.
• Mayor's Summer Reading Club Kick-off party on 5/30 from 10:00am-12:OOpm.
• Behind the Book Summer Author Events with 4 authors:
• Lisa Wingate on 6/20 at 1:OOpm.
• Amanda Eyre Ward on 7/9 at 1:OOpm.
• Shari Lapena on 7/29 at 7:OOpm.
• Riley Sager on 8/4 at 1:OOpm.
2026 MAYOR'S SUMMER READING CLUB PRESENTATION
Kinsey Peresh, Youth Services Supervisor, introduced Unearth a Story, the theme for the
2026 Mayor's Summer Reading Club. Ms. Peresh shared the history of Summer Reading
Club and talked about community involvement from city partners and local business
sponsors. Beanstack, the application where participants will use to log hours and earn
incentives, was also highlighted. Additionally, Ms. Peresh presented upcoming children's,
teens, and adult programs, main performances, and answered questions from the board.
PERSONNEL UPDATE
Haley Scott was promoted to full time Librarian in the Reference department. Alyssa Griffin
was promoted to part time Librarian in the same department. The Circulation department is
interviewing candidates for part time Library Associate positions.
NEXT MEETING DATE
The next meeting will be held on May 21, 2026 at 6:OOpm.
