SUBJECT: Approve the Minutes of the April 9, 2026 Advisory Committee on
Senior Affairs Meeting.
PRESENTER: Adrien Pekurney, Parks and Recreation Director
SUMMARY:
The minutes are approved by a majority vote of the Advisory Committee on Senior Affairs
meetings.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Parks and Recreation Office prepare action minutes for each Advisory Committee on
Senior Affairs meeting. The minutes from each meeting are placed on a later agenda for
review and approval by the Committee. Upon approval of the minutes, an electronic copy
will be uploaded to the city's website.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Minutes of the April 9, 2026, Advisory Committee on Senior Affairs Meeting.

CA OMA/PIA FOR BOARDS AND COMMITTEES
Ms. Adrien Pekurney, Director, presented an overview of the Open Meetings Act and the
Public Information Act (OMA/PIA), which are required trainings for all board and
committee members.
C.2 OVERVIEW OF COMMITTEE ROLE
Ms. Pekurney provided an overview of the Committee's role, including-
-Providing insight and recommendations
-Representing diverse senior perspectives
-Engaging with the community
-Supporting communication between seniors and the city
C.3 OVERVIEW OF CITY COMMUNICATIONS
Ms. Pekurney provided an overview of the city's wide range of communication platforms
and outreach efforts.

Ms. Pekurney reviewed upcoming city events throughout the spring 2026 season.

Based on feedback gathered through the pre-meeting questionnaire and the group
discussion, the committee has agreed to the following future meeting dates-
-Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 1.30 PM
-Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 1.30 PM
-Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 1.30 PM
-Tuesday, January 5, 2027 at 1.30 PM
In addition, three goals were established for the June meeting-

-Outreach and Events
-Education on Outside Services
