ORDINANCE NUMBER 331 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL PERIOD OCTOBER 1, 1970, TO SEPTEMBER 30, 1971; LEVYING TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1970 TO BE ASSESSED ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND IDLLS, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR INVESTMENT OF IDLE FUNDS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, a notice of a public hearing on the Budget for the City of North Richland Hills, Texas, for the fiscal period beginning October 1, 1970, and ending September 30, 1971, was heretofore published at least seven (7) days in advance of said hearing; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on the said Budget was duly held and all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard for or against any item therein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the Budget for the City of North Richland Hills, Texas, for the fiscal period beginning October 1, 1970, and ending September 30, 1971, in words and figures as shown therein is adopted and approved. Sec tion 2. II That there shall be and there is hereby levied the following taxes on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars valuation on all taxable property ~ ~ . within the City of North Richland Hills, Texas, to be assessed and collected by the Tax Assessor and Collector for the year, and collected for the purposes hereinafter stipulated, to-wit: (a) For the General Fund levied on the $100.00 valuation $0.70 (b) For the Interest and Sinking Fund levied on the $100.00 valuation $0.3975 (c) For the Trinity River Authority Bond Account $0.0725 (d) For the Reserve for Contin- gencies Account TOTAL LEVY $0.03 $1.20 . Section 3. That the City Manager be and is hereby authorized to invest any funds not needed for current use, whether operating funds or bond funds, in United States Treasury Bills and/or certificates of deposit. Interest accrued from such investment shall be deposited to the Interest Income Account of the fund from which the money comes. Section 4. The fact that the fiscal period begins on October 1, 1970, requires that this ordinance be effective upon its passage and adoption to preserve the public peace, property, health and safety, and the rules requiring ordinances to be read and passed on two separate dates is hereby suspend- . ed and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and adoption. ~ ~ . , . .. .. .
