ORDINANCE NO. 240
AN OlIDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION
OF CEHTAIN BOUNDARY LHUTS OF THE CITY OF
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, AND THE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TEIll{ITORY CONSISTING
OF 480 ACRES OF LAND, ~rrIICH SAID TEID{ITORY
LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT
BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY OF NORTH HICHLAND
HILLS, TEXAS.
~IHEIŒAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the
City of North Richland Hills, Texas, where all interested persons were
provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the
following described territory;
BEING a strip of land lying on the North boundary
of North Hichland Hills and within Tarrant County,
Texas, containing the Green Valley Raceways and
other land adjacent thereto, and being more
particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point approximately 415 feet South
of the Southeast corner of the Gracie Richards
tract on the present Northern boundary of the North
Hichland Hills City Limits, as described in Volume
2215, page 260 of the deed records.
THEI'JCE North to the Northeast corner of the 'rhorr.as
Collins tract as described in Volume 2021, page
433 of said deed records.
THENCE East to a point on the Westerly line of
Farm to Market Road 1938.
THENCE North Easterly along the West line of said
road for a distance of 142 feet, being the East
line of the A. F. Byrd tract as described in Volume
1617, þage 343.
THENCE North along said Byrd tract to the North line
of the Steven Richardson Survey, abstract number
1266, and continuing North for a total distance of
5~.sO feet from the point of beginnin.g..
TI~NCE West in a straight line to County Road 3076.
'rHENCE South along the j,1Testerly line of said County
Road to its intersection with the present boundary
line of North Richland Hills, i.e. County Road 3113.
THENCE East along said boundary line to the point of
beginning.

January, 1969, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days
prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and
1;1HEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in
a newspaper having general circulation in the City of North Richland Hills,
Texas, and in the above described territory on the 15th day of January, 1969,
which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the
date of such public hearing; and
WI1EK~~S, the total corporate area of the City of North
Hichland Hills, Texas, on the first day of January, 1969, was 1°1752
acres; and
hTfl.EllliA;'>, the population of the City of North Hichland
Hills, Texas, is 16,000 inhabitants; and
T¡JIŒHEAS, the above described terri tory lies wi thin the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of North Hichland Hills, Texas; and
1;'IH1~REAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and
adjoins the City of North Hichland Hills, Texas; and
1'J1IEREAS, the above described territory contains 430 acres;

BE H OHDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOHTH HICHLAND HILLS, 'rEXAS:
Section 1. 'rhe following described land and territory
lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of North Hichland Hills 'rexas, is
hereby added and annexed to the City of North Richl~~d Hills, Texas, and
said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the
boundary limits of the City of North Hichland Hills, Texas, and the present
boundary limits of such city, at the various points contiguous to the area
hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area
within the corporate limits of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas, to wit:
BEING a strip of land lying on the North boundary of
North Hichland Hills and within Tarrant County, Texas,
containing the Green Valley Haceways and other land
adjacent thereto, and being more particularly described
as follows:
BEGINNING at a point approximately 415' South of the
Southeast corner of the Gracie Hichards tract on the
present Northern boundary of the North Richland Hills
City Limits, as described in Volwne 2215, page 260 of
the deed records.
THENCE North to the Northeast corner of the Thomas
Collins tract as described in Volume 2021, page 433 of
said deed records.
THENCE East to a point on the Westerly line of Farm
to Market Road 1933.
THENCE Northeasterly along the ~est line of said road
for a distance of 142 feet, being the East line of the
A. F. Byrd tract as desori bed in Volume 1617 J page 343.
THENCE North along said Byrd tract to the North line
of the steven Richardson survey, abstract number 1266,
and continuing North for a total distance of 5230 feet
from the point of beginning.
TH8NCE !dest in a straight line to County Road 3076.
THENCE South along the Westerly line of said County
[(.cad to its intersection with the present boundary
line of North Richland Hills) i. e. County Hoad 3113.
'rH8NCE East along said boundary line to the point of
beginning.
Section 2. The above described territory and the area
so annexed shall be a. part of the City of North Hichla.nd Hills, Texas, and
the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied
by the City of North Richland Hills, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall
be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and
shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the
City of North Hichland Hills, Texas.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published and passed
in the manner provided in Article VI of the Charter of the City of North
Richland Hills, Texas.
