HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 0208 ORDIN1~CE NO. 208 !)"JHED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMPHEHENSIVE ZONING OHDINANCE, ORDINANCE NO. 179 WHICH ESTABLISHES SET-BACK LINES BEYOND WHICH NO FIXED OBJECTS SHALL BE CON- STRUCTED, BUILT OR PLACED. WHEREAS, it is necessary to the orderly growth of the City of North Richland Hills to establish a uniform policy in establishing set-back lines beyond which shall remain open and unobstructed; and, WHEREAS, to establish uniform set-back lines will promote the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens at large and particularly of North Richland Hills, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas; SECTION ONE This Amendment has been submitted to the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of North Hich1and Hills and was approved on the 25th day of July , 1968, after which a public hearing was held on the 12th day of August , 1968, after due notice was published in the official publica- tion of the City of North Richland Hills, stating the time and place of such hearing. SECTION TWO A set-back line, running parallel to the street and/or roadway, adjacent to said property, beyond which no structure, building or obstruction shall be constructed, built or placed, shall apply to all property in the City of North Richland Hills, Tarrant County, Texas, as follows: (a) On residential streets the set-back line shall be established twenty-five (25') feet from the center of the street or roadway; (b) On collector streets the set-back line shall be established thirty (30') feet from the center of ~I - ... the street or roadway; (c) On major thoroughfares the set-back line shall be established forty (40') feet from the center of the street or roadway. The terms, 'residential', 'collector' and 'major thoroughfare' are defined and shall be designated as per the Major Thoroughfare Plan of the City of North Richland Hills, on file in the office of the City Secretary, City of North Richland Hills. SECTION THREE Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed to affect or be in conflict with any other ordinances of said City. Mayor ATTEST: City Secretary APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY: MARION L.
