HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 0101 '- ORDINANCE NO. I tJ I AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PARKING ZONES, LOADING j ZONES AND OTHER RELATED ZONES AND REGULATING THEIR USAGE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NŒ.TH RICHLAND HILLS" TEXAS, THAT: I At any time it shall be unlawful to permit any vehicle to stand in any of the following places, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance wi ththe direction of a policeman or traffic signal: 1. In any intersection; 2. In a crosswalk; 3. Upon any bridge or viaduct, or in any subway or the approach thereto; 4. Between a safety zone and the adjacent a.urb or within 20 feet of a point on the curb immediately opposite the end of a safety zone; 5. Within 30 feet of a traffic signal or a through street sign on the approaching side; 6. Within 20 feet of any intersection; 7. At any place where the standing of a vehicle will reduce the usuable width of the roadway for moving traffic to less than 18 feet; 8. At any curb within 15 feet of a fire hydrant; 9. At any place where the vehicle would block the use of a driveway; 10. Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad grade crossing; 11. Within 20 feet offhe driveway entrance to any fire department station and on the side of the street opposite the entrance to any such station within 75 feet of such entrance; 12. On any sidewalk or parkway. 13. At any place where official signs prohibit parking. II No vehicle shall be parked with the left side of such vehicle next to the curb, and it shall be unlawful to stand or park any vehicle in a street ether than parallel with the curb and with the two right wheels of the vehicle within 12 inches of the regularly established curb line, except that upon those streets that have been marked for angle parking, vehicles shall be parked at the angle to the curb indicatèd by such marks. III It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle upon any street for the purpose of displaying it for sale, or to park any vehicle upon any business street from whibh vehicle merchandise is peddled. IV ~.._.'. During the times specified herein it shall be unlawful for the driver of a vehicle to stand a passenger vehicle for a period of time longer than is necess- ary for the loading or unloading of passengers, not to exceed three minutes, and for the driver to stand any freight carrying vehicle for a period of time longer than is necessary to load, unload and deliver materials, not to exceed 30 minutes, in any of the following places: 1. In any public alley, during any hour of the day or night. 2. At any place not to exceed 75 feet along the curb before the entrance to any hospital or hotel at any time. 3. At any place not to exceed 75 feet along the curb before the entrance to a public building between eight olclock a.m. and six o'clock p.m., except on Sunday. 4. Directly in front of the entrance to any theater at any time the theater is open for business. v It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle except those of an emergency nature along any curb or walkway which has been painted yellow by the authority of the Police Department of the City of North Richland Hills. VI No person shall park a vehicle within an alley in such a manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than 10 feet of the width of the road... way for the free movement of vehicular traffic. and no person shall stop, stand,. or park a vehicle within an alley in such position as to block the driveway entrance to any abutting property. VII No vehicle other than a licensed taxicab shall be parked in any area designated by ordinance as a cab stand; and no vehicle other than a bus shallbe parked in a place so designated as a bus loading zone, VIII Any person. firm or corporation violating or faili.ng to comply with any provision of this ordinance shall be fi.ned not less than One Dollar ($1,00) and not more than Two Hundred Dollars {$200. OO}. for each offense" and a separate offense shall be deemed committed -for each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues, IX AU ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance shall be and are hereby repealed.
