ORDINANCE NO. 126
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION IV OF
ORDINANCE NO. )0 OF THE CITY OF NORTH
RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, PERTAINING TO THE
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY,
FURTHER PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF~ID
CITY ATTORNEY AND SETTING FORTH AND
PRESCRIBING THE MINIMUM EXPERIENCE SAID
CITY ATTORNEY MUST HAVE HAD BEFORE BEING
ELIGIBLE FOR SUCH APPOINTMENT; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; CONTAINING A SAVING
CLAUSE AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS:
That Section IV of Ordinance No. )0
of the City of North Richland Hills, Texas, be
amended, and, after having been so amended, shall
read as follows:
Section L. The City Attorney shall be the Chief
legal officer of the City; he shall be duly licensed and
admitted to the practice of law by the State of Texas with
a minimum of ten years of experience in the active practice
of law. He shall be a resident of the City of North Richland
hills, Texas, and shall be legal adviser of and attorney
for all office~s of the City anà shall represent the City
in all litigation add legal proceedings. He shall approve
the legality of every ordinance before it is acted upon
by the Council.
Section II. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict hepewity be, and the same are hereby, repealed.
Section III. That if any word, sentence, clause,
section and/or provisions hereof be for any reason held
to be unconstitutional, such holding shall not affect the
remaining parts, sections and provisions hereof but same
shall remain in full force qnd eifect.
Section IV. That this ordinance shall be and
become effective immediately upon its passage and adøption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 14 day of December,
