UPDATE ON TXDOT PLANS FOR LOOP 820 WIDENING - Steve Brown NRH city representatives are in meetings with Texas Department of Transportation officials to discuss concerns for the proposed plans to widen Loop 820. Among the suggestions to mitigate the impact to the Library and Recreation Center are: 1) construction of a vertical retaining wall at the access road to keep the road more than the 20-30 feet planned from the library children's area; 2) the state purchase of the adjacent Richland Church of Christ property for parking; and 3) the city's negotiation of the final plans until major objections and concerns are resolved and the document is acceptable to the city.
